Designed for children who have mastered swimming more than 60m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke

This class is conducted with significant emphasis on refining stroke technique in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. Butterfly is introduced along with the remaining turns and race starts used in competitive swimming. Improved distance capabilities are also a major focus of this class. 

• Enhancement and correction of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke technique.

• Introduction of butterfly. Movement skills include correct pull, kick and breathing position.

• Drills working towards good swimming technique with particular focus on timing, breathing and stroke efficiency.

• Introduction of the breaststroke and butterfly start and turn

• Introduction of the turns required for the individual medley

• Consolidate and further water safety skills

Children are recommended for an assessment by their instructor when they competently complete the following skills:

• 60m Butterfly with good technique and using the correct start and turns

• 60m Breaststroke with good technique and using the correct start and turns

• 120m Freestyle with good technique and using the correct start and turns

• 120m Backstroke with good technique and using the correct start and turns

• 120m Individual medley with good technique and using the correct start and turns

Your swimmer now moves out of lessons and into our squad program

• Each lesson runs for 45 minutes

• Cost per class is $21

• There is a maximum of 8 children per class

• Bring a swimming costume, goggles and towel. 

• Classes Run:

  • Monday to Friday 3.30pm-6.30pm

  • Saturday 8.00am-12:30pm
