This class is conducted with its emphasis on developing freestyle and backstroke technique. The freestyle turn is introduced, as are the backstroke and freestyle race start. 

• Develop appropriate kicking and breathing action in both freestyle and backstroke

• Develop correct hand, head and hip position in both freestyle and backstroke

• Drills working towards good swimming technique, with particular focus on breathing position, and kicking action.

• Complete at least 30m of freestyle using bi-lateral (3stroke) breathing, a dive and tumble turn

• Complete at least 30m of backstroke with continuous arm movement and using a race start

• Consolidate and further water safety skills

Children are recommended for an assessment by their instructor when they competently complete the following skills:

• 30m Freestyle with good technique and using bi-lateral (3 stroke) breathing

• 30m Backstroke with good technique

• Freestyle tumble turn

• Freestyle and backstroke race starts

The next level of class is known as Frogs

• Each lesson runs for 30 minutes

• Cost per class is $19

• There is a maximum of 5 children per class

• Bring a swimming costume, goggles and towel. 

• Classes Run:

  • Monday to Friday 9am-12:30pm | 3.30pm-6.30pm

  • Saturday 8.00am-2:00pm
