Designed for children beginning swimming lessons and those with limited swimming experience

This class is conducted by a qualified instructor with the following outcomes 

• Establish water safety skills.

• Movement skills include basic kicking, paddling and floating – with and without floatation aids.

• Safety skills include: enter and exit the water with safety – initially aided with a view to establishing the child's ability unaided

• Dog Paddle unaided at least 10m

• Float and kick on back unaided at least 10m

• Start developing correct head and hip position as well as appropriate kicking and breathing in both freestyle and backstroke

• Consolidate and further water safety skills

Children are recommended for an assessment by their instructor when they competently complete the following skills:

• 10m Dogpaddle

• 10m Back Float

• 10m Correct breathing action for Freestyle

The next level of class is known as Turtles

• Each lesson runs for 30 minutes

• Cost per class is $19

• There is a maximum of 4 children per class

• Minimum age for this class is 24 months 

• Bring a swimming costume and towel. Goggles are not needed when the child starts this level of class, but will be required when they start learning freestyle.

• Swimming nappies are also required for any children not yet toilet trained. 

• Classes Run:

  • Monday to Friday 9am-12pm | 3.30pm-6.30pm

  • Saturday 8.00am-12.30pm
